A personal note from Victoria

I did not create this Academy because healing was easy for me. I created it because I know what it feels like to need answers, support, and hope while carrying more than anyone around you can see.

You are not a case number, a diagnosis, a burden, or the worst thing that has happened to you. You are a person who deserves to be heard, believed, respected, and supported.

Wherever you are beginning from today, I am glad you found your way here.

Victoria Cuore

You belong in the next chapter of your own life.

Start small. Take what helps. Leave what does not. Come back whenever you need to.

A survivor led journey back to yourself

The Mirror They Broke

Rebuilding the Self They Tried to Erase

If someone you loved taught you to doubt your worth, your voice, your choices, or your body, you did not arrive here because you failed.

You arrived because some part of you still knows you deserve to come home to yourself.

“You do not have to believe in yourself yet. Until you can hold that belief on your own, let me help you carry it.”Victoria Cuore
Begin Rebuilding With Me Move gently. Pause whenever you need to. Your pace is welcome here.
A survivor reconnecting with herself in a mirror

You are not broken. You adapted to survive.

This deeply personal course helps survivors of any form of abuse, body shame, body dysphoria, disability related insecurity, scars, illness, or disconnection from their bodies rebuild self trust without pressure, judgment, or forced positivity.

1

Separate their voice from your truth

Recognize the messages that were placed inside you and begin deciding what you actually believe.

2

Understand your survival responses

Meet people pleasing, shrinking, apologizing, and self doubt with understanding instead of shame.

3

Trust your choices again

Rebuild confidence through small, emotionally safe decisions that belong completely to you.

4

Create protective boundaries

Learn that protecting your peace does not make you selfish, difficult, or cruel.

5

Reconnect with your body

Approach your reflection, body, scars, changes, and needs with compassion rather than punishment.

6

Take up space again

Begin becoming visible in your own life without apologizing for existing, needing, or becoming.

Your emotional safety matters

There is no pressure here.

You will never be required to disclose your story, forgive anyone, reconcile, revisit painful memories before you are ready, or pretend healing is easy.

  • Pause any lesson whenever you need to
  • Return when your mind and body feel ready
  • Keep every reflection private
  • Move forward without explaining your pace

I am not teaching from outside this experience.

I created this course from lived experience. I understand what it means to have someone who claimed to love you try to erase the person you were.

I also understand that healing rarely happens in a straight line. I will be beside you with honest reflections, gentle activities, practical tools, grounding support, and the reminders I once needed myself.

With you every step of the way,
Victoria

This moment belongs to you

You are not starting over.
You are starting forward.

You do not need to feel ready for the entire journey. You only need enough courage for the next gentle step.

Yes, I Am Ready to Begin

This survivor led educational course offers peer support and personal development. It is not medical, psychological, legal, or crisis care. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted crisis resource.

Before the course, before the resources, before anything else

Peer-to-peer support comes first here.

Sometimes the first thing you need is not another lesson, another checklist, or another person telling you what you should do. Sometimes you need a safe human connection with someone who understands how heavy life can become and will meet you without judgment.

You do not have to earn support by revealing the hardest parts of your story. You may come exactly as you are, share only what feels safe, ask questions, sit quietly, or simply begin with, “I do not know what I need yet.”

You deserve more than information.

You deserve to feel seen while you decide what comes next.

1

Begin with connection

Find peer-to-peer support shaped by lived experience, compassion, and the understanding that trust may take time.

2

Choose what you need today

Support may mean being heard, finding words, locating a resource, preparing to advocate, or taking one small next step.

3

Keep control of your story

You choose what to share, what to keep private, when to pause, and whether a course, resource, or conversation feels right.

What peer support can be

  • A compassionate conversation with someone who understands difficult chapters
  • A place to organize your thoughts without being judged or rushed
  • Practical encouragement for survivors, caregivers, veterans, and special-needs families
  • Help identifying questions, resources, choices, and the next manageable step
  • A reminder that needing support does not make you weak, difficult, or broken

What you will never be asked to do

  • Prove that your pain is serious enough
  • Tell your entire story before you feel safe
  • Forgive, reconcile, or “move on” for anyone else
  • Accept advice that does not feel right for your life
  • Pretend that healing is simple, quick, or perfectly linear

This was built from lived experience, not from a distance.

A Contagious Smile was founded by Victoria Cuore, a 14-time award-winning survivor advocate, international bestselling author, global speaker, and humanitarian with more than twenty years of advocacy experience.

Victoria survived life-threatening domestic violence while pregnant and rebuilt her life through more than 100 surgeries, limb loss, permanent injuries, motherhood, caregiving, and years spent advocating for her daughter Faith and other families who were fighting to be heard.

This is why you will never be treated like a case number, a diagnosis, a burden, or the worst thing that has happened to you. The support, resources, and courses here were created with an understanding of what it means to keep going while carrying what others cannot see.

“I cannot promise that every step will be easy. I can promise that you should never have to feel invisible while taking it.”
